HEALING PROCESS

MICROBLADING

CLEANSE:

I recommend dabbing the treated area GENTLY 5-7 times a day (every 2-3 hours) with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel or cotton round until flaking begins (5-7 days later).

Pat the area dry immediately after. This is to remove any plasma and oil buildup from the surface and to prevent scabbing.

PROTECT:

  • Apply a THIN layer of barrier cream supplied with a cotton swab if necessary. Continue this for 7-10 days.
  • Keep your face out of the sun throughout the healing process and wear a hat and sunglasses.
  • Avoid sweating, swimming and ALL cosmetics for at least two weeks.
  • Do not rub, scratch or pick the area – let any flaking fall off naturally.
  • Try not to sleep laying on your face during the healing process.
  • Keep the area clean and let it breathe.

Each client’s skin responds differently to these treatments. This information acts as a guideline only.

How to care for your new cosmetic tattoo: Congratulations on your new tattoo.

Now you can sit back, relax, and do nothing – seriously.

We have had the best results with this simple healing method and it makes it easier for everyone.

We recommend dabbing the tattooed area GENTLY 3-5 times a day (every 4-6 hours) with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel, gauze or cotton round. Pat the area dry and apply a THIN layer of the barrier cream that has been supplied to you. Keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Do not apply ANY cosmetics in this area for AT LEAST 10-14 days. Keep the area clean and let it breathe.

Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen to the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.

Glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, and chemical face peel products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment.

If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.

Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 4-8 weeks later.

There are no implied or written guarantees if you do not take care of your tattoo.

* Optional sessions to build density/dimension may be done after 4-8 weeks.

* Maintenance sessions are usually done every 6 or 12 months.

NANO BROWS

There are certain things you should avoid before the nano brows treatment to make sure everything goes smoothly and you get the best possible results:
There are certain things you should avoid before the nano brows treatment to make sure everything goes smoothly and you get the best possible results:

The actual treatment is only half the job – caring for your brows properly afterwards is just as important for getting good healed results.

Once you’re finished with your treatment, your skin will need some time to heal, during which you need to pay some special attention to it.

The basic rules of aftercare include:

DAY 1-3

DAY 3-5

If instructed, when using your aftercare ointment apply it gently in a very thin layer with a clean Qtip, whenever you feel the area is itchy or after each wash.

The ointment minimizes scabbing and protects the area from outside contamination by forming a protective film. Apply a very thin layer – the area needs to breathe and you don’t want to clog the pores.

DAY 5-10

Your brows are flaking and peeling. They’re probably itchy. Be super careful not to touch the scabs and let the area peel off on its own.

Keep applying the aftercare ointment (for oily skin this step is not necessary) and washing your brows as instructed.

DAY 10-14

Once the peeling stops, you can relax; you can stop following the nano blading after care instructions. You can go back to your usual routine, but it’s advisable to adjust it a bit. Ingredients like retinol and acids speed up the fading of pigments, so you shouldn’t get them on your brows.

Extra Tip: Exposing semipermanent pigments to sunlight in long stretches of time causes a chemical reaction between sun radiation and PMU pigments that fades them. Wear SPF when you go outside, no matter how old your nano brows are.

SKIN CARE INGREDIENTS TO AVOID AFTER THE TREATMENT

Here’s the thing – there’s a difference between cleaning your brows and washing them.

You need to clean your brows the very same day. This is done with a cotton pad dampened very slightly with sterile water.

You shouldn’t get your brows too wet, and you need to dry them as soon as possible by blotting. This is how you should clean the area until day 3.

From day 3, you can wash your whole face and it’s not a problem if you get the brow area wet. That said, no harsh chemicals should come in contact with your brows. Use a mild antibacterial soap – Don’t rub them. Dry your brows as soon as possible after washing.

Once the peeling ends, you can relax a bit. Wash your face as usual, but try to avoid products that contain exfoliants, as they fade PMU pigments.

The first bit of maintenance you need to do is get the 4 week touch up. After that, you’ll go through another healing cycle, but it will be less intense. You’ll have to repeat the nano brow aftercare routine, but after that, you’re set for up to 2.5 years.

Since they’re semi permanent, your nano brows will start fading after about 12-18 months, but you don’t have to get them touched up until you feel the need to. Most clients like to get touch-ups once a year.

The pace of nano brows fading depends on factors like:

  • Body chemistry
  • Sunlight exposure
  • Frequent exposure to salt or pool water
  • Frequent sweating
  • Smoking
  • Skincare Products (AHA & BHA)

Some of these factors you can control, so make sure you do what you can to prevent premature fading if you want to make the most of the treatment. Part of this is following the nano brows aftercare which enables pigments to settle properly.

Once you notice your brows have faded significantly, book a touch-up as soon as possible.

The more you wait, the more they’ll fade, and the artist will have to do more work, so they’ll charge more – up to the full price.

Nano Brows done with a machine takes longer time than microblading and is more expensive than using the traditional hand tools like the classic microblading pen.

If you don’t touch the area while it’s healing, you can’t mess it up. Your brows will be itchy, but don’t scratch them.

The pigment is injected shallow into the skin and you can pull it out if you pick the scabs. If that does happen, contact your artist. It can probably be corrected at the 4 week touch up.

LIP BLUSH TATTOO & LIP NEUTRALIZATION

You will be advised to exfoliate your lips 3 days before the appointment. You also need to avoid any type of blood thinner, alcohol, caffeine, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Aspirin, fish oil, etc. 48 hours before your appointment. No retinol 2 weeks prior.

For best results as an ideal candidate for Lip Blush, please do the following starting 3-5 days PRIOR leading up to your appointment: gently exfoliate your lips before bed with a lip scrub, baking soda & water(forming a thick paste), or with your toothbrush for 1-3 minutes and immediately moisturize with a lip mask. Wear a lip balm daily. Its best to drink a minimum of 80-120oz of water a day based on your weight and lifestyle. If your lips are dehydrated, flaking, chapped, we will have to postpone your appointment.

Please bring your favorite go-to lipstick, lip gloss, lip balm to your appointment. If you do not, I will custom-create a lip color based on the inner lower lip for supernatural results.

Don’t pick the scabs! Your lips will need to heal, and around day 5 they will start scabbing. It is the ugly phase and an emotional roller coaster, so be prepared. Your lips may appear even darker while they are healing, but don’t judge the results until the healing process is over (4 weeks).

Provided you an ointment or a balm to use to ease the burning and itching sensation which can occur while your lips are healing, as well as to speed up the healing process.

Other things to remember about the lip blushing on dark lips aftercare: refrain from soaking your lips in water for a week and from applying makeup to them, as well as using saunas and swimming pools, sweating excessively, and sunbathing for 14 days.

During the first 4 weeks post-procedure refrain from using exfoliants, acids and anti-aging serums on the area and around the lips.

I recommend blotting away the lymph from the treated area as frequently as possible 3-5 days after the procedure, and keeping the lips moisturized with a special aftercare ointment that aids healing until the peeling ends.

DAY 1: Blotting the lips hourly with slightly damp cotton pads.

DAY 2-5: Blotting the lips every 2-3 hours (with slightly damp cotton pads).

DAY 5-7: Apply a thin layer of ointment before bed.

Raluca GREATLY appreciates when there’s a mutual respect and understanding as to why she requires her clients be diligent about their Pre-care and Aftercare. She wants you to have the most comfortable satisfactory experience and the best healed results that others will be envious of ♥

EYELINER TATTOO

The area on your eyelids and around your eyes may feel a little tender within the first 48 hours. Some may experience a little redness on the eyelids too, which generally will disappear within a few hours or so.

It is extremely important that you remember not to touch, scrub, scratch or pick at your eyes for 24 hours post-eyeliner tattooing. This is because the inside of your eyes may still be numb from the Anaesthetics, which means that you won’t be able to feel if you have torn the delicate corneal areas within.

Fresh eyeliner tattoo will appear a lot darker and thicker than the final healed results, which takes place at between 4-6 weeks time. This is due to 3 main reasons, the slight post treatment swelling, the Anaesthetics used during the treatment, and the fact that all cosmetic tattoo will shrink in size and fade in colour during the healing process.

After eyeliner tattoo your eyes may swell or redden because of the delicate skin and sensitive areas, some clients feel it is best not to make any social plans for a day or two following any procedure. It is always best to avoid these procedures within months prior to important life events such as weddings, vacations etc. Also if you have vascular eyelids, eyeliner tattoo is not recommended. Your eyes can be sensitive and bleed easily. Consult with your artist first.

PERMANENT MAKEUP IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANY CLIENTS WHO ARE OR HAVE:

  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • Had an organ transplant
  • Tendency towards keloids or scarring
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Skin irritations or psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
  • Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
  • Used Accutane in the past year
  • Allergic to anesthetic (Lidocaine)
  • Extremely oily or problematic skin
  • Undergoing active chemotherapy
  • Dark pre-existing eyeliner tattoo (please, send us an email with a picture of eyeliner without makeup on).

The skin must be free of all irritations (For example, ingrown hairs, blemishes, eczema and psoriasis).

THINGS TO AVOID BEFORE EYELINER TATTOOS PROCEDURE:

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. Plan ahead.

Stay away from any Caffeine or Alcoholic drinks for the next 24 hours if possible.

DAY 1-2

DO NOT touch your eyes under any circumstances.

During the first 2 days, the liners should be cleaned with a lightly dampened cotton pad every 2-3 hours and without excessive pressure. A care cream is not necessary. If an extreme sensation of tension is experienced, a thin film of ointment can be applied during the night.

Day 1-7

NO makeup directly on your eyeliner tattoos.

Day 1-5

Avoid workout or activities that involve excessive sweating

Day 1-14

  • DO NOT directly wash your eyeliner, showers are fine but don’t make a point to wash them and always blot dry when wet. Ensure showers are not overly warm as the steam would open the pores and drain your pigments.
  • NO skincare products on the eye areas. Avoid any skincare product containing retinal, AHA, vitamins A, C and E agents.
  • Sleep with a clean pillow case, on your back rather than stomach or sides.
  • Avoid touching the eye areas with unclean hands or at all.
  • DO NOT pick, pull, scratch your eyeliner tattoos. Allow the scabs (if any) to form and fall off naturally.
  • If the eyeliner tattoos get too dry, stretched, or itchy, apply a rice grain sized of the healing cream provided in your care bag.
  • Be sure to book in your touch up session for between 4-8 weeks from the initial treatment date.

From day 14 and beyond

Gently wash your eyeliner with warm water daily and continue to apply the care cream given as needed.

Important note about showering (during 10 days):

  • Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam.
  • Keep your face/ procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair.
  • Your face should only be getting wet only at the end of the shower.
  • Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

THINGS TO AVOID AFTER AN EYELINER TATTOO PROCEDURE:

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. Plan ahead.

Certain skincare products and services will cause premature fading of your cosmetic tattoo and may also alter the pigment color. Please apply a thin layer of Ointment (Aquaphor for example) over your eyeliner tattoo before use of any of the following:

  • glycolic acid,
  • salicylic acid,
  • alpha hydroxy acid,
  • hydroquinone,
  • retinol/retin-a,
  • vitamin c,
  • peels,
  • microdermabrasion,
  • Obagi,
  • or anything that brightens or treats hyperpigmentation.

Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected or fading of the pigment.

Permanent makeup changes over time for several reasons.

Fading can occur due to sun exposure, tanning, skin care products/makeup remover, and your skin’s natural exfoliation process. The purpose of the touch-up visit is to correct any color or shape issues.

The first touch-up can be done after 1 month to 2 months.

The color boost or annual touch-up is recommended to maintain the result and it is usually done no earlier than 6 months to 1- 2 years.

Sometimes you might not need touchup at all with eyeliner tattoo, there are 2 reasons for that. First, your skin type is thin, normal or/ and dry. Secondly, plus if you followed all aftercare instructions to a tee.

Lastly, the skin in the eyelid is very thin and delicate. That is why a permanent eyeliner tattoo can look fresh and bright for a long time. But, we recommend touchup sessions, if you want your eyeliner or lash enhancement tattoo to last longer.

Any client who did not come in for their first touchup session might return back 6 months later and whoever got their touchup can be back 1 to 2 years later for a color refreshment.

BB CONCEALER

Discontinue the use of Retinol, Retin A, or Vitamin A for 5 days before the treatment. If you take acne or blood-thinning medication, consult your doctor and see if it’s possible to discontinue use for some time before the treatment. Do a patch test.

How long does BB Concealer take to heal?

It will just need a few days to close up 3-4 days. It should recover completely within 2 weeks. There might be some redness in the treated area for 24-48 hours. If it gets worse over time or doesn’t subside, contact your tech.

Will I need any touch-ups?

This depends on how well your skin takes the color. Because the color is not ink and it is a pigmented serum, it needs to be built up gradually, over 2 or more sessions, booked 4 weeks apart. It’s not really possible to predict how many sessions will be necessary until the tech can see how they settled after your initial session. Some clients’ skin retains pigments well, others’ don’t.

How well can BB Concealer camouflage dark circles?

It’s important to note that this treatment cannot fully cover up dark circles. It can brighten them and provide up to 80% coverage, which is definitely an improvement, but dark circles can be quite persistent and stay visible, albeit less, even after multiple sessions.

How long does BB Concealer last?

If the treatment is done with highly concentrated tattoo ink, the effects can last even a decade or longer. If it’s done with a pigmented serum, they’re expected to disappear after 2-4 years.

Are there any side effects?

The immediate side effects of a concealer treatment are not that bad – they come down to some redness and minor swelling. This should go away within a day or 2.

BB BLUSH

As part of skincare prep, the technician will clean your skin and apply a skin prep solution to remove any excess oils and debris from the skin.

This step also includes removing dead skin cells so that the skin’s surface is smooth and takes the pigmented serum evenly. The prep can sometimes involve a whole other skincare treatment like dermaplaning or a chemical peel.

The technician might also apply a numbing cream to minimize any discomfort, if necessary.

The technician might also apply a numbing cream to minimize any discomfort, if necessary.

The procedure itself has several steps. The first one is microneedling or nanoneedling, which creates microchannels in the skin, through which the tinted serum will penetrate into the skin.

During this part of the procedure, you may experience a slight prickling sensation, but it shouldn’t be anything painful.

After needling, the technician will apply the tinted serum, using a gentle, circular motion.

The serum will absorb into the skin, providing hydration, nutrients, and color. But multiple passes are necessary to ensure that the tinted pigments are evenly distributed.

Finishing Touches

The treatment is finished with the application of a soothing mask, to help calm and cool the skin after the treatment, followed by a moisturizer and sunscreen to protect the skin.
Sometimes, a LED light therapy is also used to help speed up the healing of the micro-wounds caused by microneedling’s needles.

After the treatment, your skin may appear slightly red or irritated. This is normal and should subside within a few hours.

You may also experience some mild peeling or flaking of the skin in the days following the treatment. This is also normal and should not cause any discomfort.

To help your skin recover as quickly as possible, you should:

Since this procedure includes breakage of the skin barrier, it will result in some immediate side effects such as:

  • Tightness
  • Increased sensitivity
  • Irritation, itching, or burning sensation in the treated area
  • Even some pinpoint bleeding (particularly on sensitive skin)

These skin reactions are normal, and should subside within 24-48 hours.

But there are also some long-term side effects that can be problematic. Since tinted serums used for BB glow contain pigments, there is a possibility for:

  • The saturation ending up patchy.
  • Pigment migration over time, particularly if the skin is exposed to sun or other environmental factors.
  • Texture changes due to pigments rising towards the surface of the skin and causing visible bumps on the skin.
  • Hyperpigmentation, although rare, can be triggered, especially in darker skin tones.
  • Allergic reaction to the tinted serum.

We can always do a patch test before BB glow and blush treatment.

Since the BB glow blush involves microneedling as a means to apply a tinted serum to the skin and achieve that natural-looking blush, its sensations are pretty much the same as the ones of a microneedling process.

The feeling is usually described as a minor to mild discomfort, and the level of pain varies from person to person. Plus, a numbing cream can be applied to the skin prior to the procedure to help minimize any discomfort.

But, as we already mentioned, nanoneedling is the more common option nowadays. The needles don’t reach as deep as regular microneedling, so there’s even less discomfort.

Nanoneedling is considered very safe and suitable for all skin types and tones.

You can always discuss your concerns with a technician beforehand and learn more about what to expect during the procedure.

BB SKIN GLOW

Days 1-7

From the day after microneedling, you can keep using the serums mentioned by your tehnician, or switch to a different ingredient.

The microchannels will have closed up, but the skin is still sensitive and prone to irritation, so stick to something gentle and high-quality.

SKIN CAMOUFLAGE

We usually recommend waiting for 6 months to a year or longer if necessary, for the scar to fully heal after surgery or injury.

For maximum results, it is recommended to do a microneedling treatment beforehand (text us with questions for more info), to first diminish the scars as much as possible, and then tattoo them.

Please;

If you take blood-thinning medications, consult your doctor and see if you can discontinue use for a couple of weeks before the treatment.
